by The Maniac Hey ho! First of all, I'd like to say, that although we have only played 3 games of Tzolk'in (2-player-mode) so far, my friend and I absolutely love it. And I believe that we have not...

by JonBen Hello,My friend and I flipped a coin today and it came up heads twice. We both flipped in using our left hands. Is there a counter-strategy for the bias in the left hand coin...

by MisterG Your best counter-strategy against that tile would be to destroy it.Second-best would be to play the game a whole lot more until you understand that that tile ain't all you're crackin' it up...

by Todd Alexander I very rarely if ever get crystal skulls at all. Between going up the temple steps through other means, and monuments I don't see the need for them. It's just a matter of play style.

by I Eat Tables After two games, I think it's far too early to draw conclusions.Putting a worker straight onto that gear leaves you with only two workers actively doing anything for a long time. Sure,...

by chris1nd I tend to agree with the OP, although not to the extreme that it was stated. A skull/temple strategy can work fine. Corn/temple is a bit easier if you are the only one.But you need not...

by Eldard I've seen three optimized strategies so far (all executed by the same player over 3 games), and all score a lot of points if the opponentsignore what's going on.Skull strategy -- Final score...

by JohnnyD144 I actually feel the skull starting tile to be rather weak. And opposed to what the OP suggests, I'd rather place it fast for a quick jump on the Chaac/brown god track (and possibly green...

by croloris Agreed, I've found any strategy that leads you to a level 3 technology (or 2 level 2 techs) after the first time you pull your workers is a good strategy.I would just concentrate on that...

by The Maniac I agree; getting a fourth worker is probably better before placing one on Chichen Itza for that many turns. Otherwise it's a bit restrictive, when you have only 2 workers to place, like I...

by Zark Starting with a skull isn't that great an advantage. Anyone can stick their first worker onto Chichen Itza. Plenty of time to get a skull while he sits there twiddling his thumbs

by Teiwaz A skull doesn't help you much in developing your situation. You get a temple advance (first reward after 7 turns, you get 1 stone or wood) and some victory points (no use at all until the...

by thenyn I think grabbing the 13 points was a mistake. Losing a worker for that long in the early game is crippling. I think you would have done better to do a quick hit (1-2 turns) for the first...

by Teiwaz True, I think as last player you can take it if you have the 7 or 9 corn starting tile available.I think its also good as 3rd or 4th player because you are unlikely to get workers early (or...
