To me (as aesthetics are somewhat subjective), I don't like the die-cut lines going through the board - although they may be more pronounced in the illustration than they will be in real life.
If they provided a folding board, then you would be just as displeased with the folds and cuts going through the board, right? It seems an insoluble problem, unless you provide a box that's as big as the entire board.
No, but that's because normal folds and cuts don't bother me (except when done poorly - I'm looking at you, Stone Age: Style is the Goal). My concern was that the die-cuts are so pronounced in the rulebook that they would be far more pronounced than normal folds and cuts in a board. But it sounds like that was mostly artistic emphasis in the rulebook, so they shouldn't be much more pronounced than normal folds and cuts on a board, which is great!
