Thread: Tzolk'in: The Mayan Calendar:: Rules:: Minor rules critique + Begging for corn question

After reading through the rules, there were a few areas where I wasn't too happy with them. For example the section on the temples mentions nothing what the numbers and resource tokens are for, not even in a general way. You'll have to keep on reading to find out, at the end of the core rules, that they take on meaning during End of Age day (or whatever it is called) when the gods are happy with their human toysslavesworshippers and bestow gifts upon them. Similar with placing multiple workers: from the main body of the rules it's not clear whether placement on multiple gears is allowed, and it is only in an example that you notice that apparently this is okay. There are more such examples sprinkled throughout the rule book.

And that brings me to a genuine question, which also finds its origin in similar lack of clarity. Is begging for corn part of the 'placing workers' action, or does it become the 'placing workers' action in its own? In other words, do I beg for corn and immediately place at least one worker thereafter? The first time begging is introduced I would think that begging becomes the action. The second time the word 'first' is used implying that it is done immediately before placement. Ergo: what is it?
