Great Post, glad to see more strategy discussion! Possibly another option that needs to be added is what other strategies you see other people pursuing. If no one is pursuing a skull strat. after the first few turns, I'll be happy to hog that wheel to myself. Or rather, if everyone is going buildings, then I'll be happy to go corn/temple. Also, if I see someone go strong temple via skulls or corn/temple, I may also go temple as 1 person winning all 3 temples can be a recipe for disaster.

Although, there is a certain amount of synergy 2 people can have, having similar strategies. I.e. If 2 people are going building, it opens up jumping opportunities on the Tikal and Yax. wheels. I find this very interesting part of the game, as you actually might want SOME competition for a wheel but not so much so that its overcrowded. I find competition for skulls to not allow for this kind of synergy, however, as you just bump heads and get into each others way on the Chichen Itza wheel.
