Just received my copy (Rio Grande Games version).
Yep, my Chichen Itza/Palenque board is also messed up.
It definitely looks like the board was folded incorrectly.
There is a heavy secondary crease on the back of these boards that runs from 3/8 inch into the Chichen Itza board on the 5VP side and goes in a straight line to 5/8 inch into the Palenque board on the other side. And the white backing paper is separated (torn) from the board everywhere between this crease and the actual split between the boards.
Yes, the game is still playable, but.....
I am going to email Rio Grande Games hoping for some help here.

Just got my copy today. My board is the same and all of the other ones have smashed corners (some are bent and some are now splitting apart). Very disappointing. I sent a message to RGG to see what they say.
Game prices are going up, quality is going down. Just about everything I have received lately has had a problem: Board issues with Tzolk'in (Made in Czech Republic), my Ladies of Troyes (Made in Germany) has mis-cut punch boards, and all of the recent King of Tokyo stuff (Made in China) has had problems.
