Basically the same game of course. I noticed some differences:

- the board puzzle pieces are a bit different. Improved, I'd say.

Yes, we can confirm that these are the changes in the most recent print runs (February onwards). Tzolk'in was very challenging to produce and even though we're quite happy with the final result there were some aspects to improve. Let me explain the reasons behind these changes:

Yellow cubes instead of gold ones. Originally when we were choosing colours for wooden pieces, we decided to go with the gold one as the product samples looked different enough mostly because they were spherical thus the shining and colour shifting was very visible. Sadly when painted on small cubes, the shining is nearly invisible, making these cubes look too similar as the other two colours. Hence the change.

Matt board instead of glossy one. We wanted durable board so it won't get damaged by constantly rotating gears. Thus we've decided to have the board laminated which resulted into the cheap glossy look. Funny enough this process made the board significantly more expensive to manufacture. Luckily in the meantime our factory figured out a new process of finish which is as durable but doesn't require lamination. So the new boards are matt.

Board comprised of 6 interlocking pieces instead of 4. We were very happy with the solution we had regarding the board and it's interlocking mechanism. But we're receiving significantly increased amount of reclamations - either ripped off boards or some sharper edges being damaged. As we cannot afford to produce plastic inserts (as long as we manufacture our games in Europe and not China), we had to figure out how to solve this issue.
